Red Bull at AREA15: A Roaming Photo Booth Inside an Airplane Cockpit for NACS at Night

A pop-up inside a real airplane leaves no room for a photo booth footprint, which is exactly why Red Bull's NACS at Night event at AREA15 called for a booth that moves. Our roaming photo booth spent the night in the cockpit, and guests left with prints before they were back in their seats.

Red Bull chose a brand-new AREA15 venue built inside an actual airplane

NACS Show ran October 6 to 9, 2026 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, per nacsshow.com, and Red Bull hosted its NACS at Night party off the show floor at AREA15. The venue was brand new: a full-size airplane fitted out as a lounge, with a lit staircase up to the cabin, lounge seating under a galaxy ceiling, and a cockpit at the front that still looks like a cockpit.

That cockpit was the photo opp. Red seats, instrument panels, a wraparound window, and warm cabin lighting made it the best-looking corner of the venue and the hardest one to put a booth in. A fixed station with a backdrop would have blocked the aisle. Instead, the cockpit itself was the backdrop.

A roaming booth took the photos where guests already were

Our attendant carried the roaming photo booth rig into the cockpit and stayed there. Groups climbed into the seats, grabbed a captain's hat or sunglasses, and the attendant shot the collage from the aisle. No one walked to a station across the venue, and no one waited in a line that competed with the bar.

This is the format we recommend when a venue is tight, split across levels, or when the brand wants coverage of the whole room rather than one corner. How it works at trade shows and activations is covered in How a Roaming Photo Booth Works, and the full inclusions list is in What's Included With a Roaming Photo Booth Rental.

Every photo went out five ways within a minute

Guests at a pop-up do not want to remember to download something later. Each group at AREA15 chose how to get its photos on the spot:

  • Instant print from the portable printer carried with the rig
  • Text message straight to the guest's phone
  • Email for anyone who wanted the full-resolution file
  • AirDrop for iPhone users standing right there
  • QR code download from the attendant's screen

Prints went in pockets, files went on Instagram before guests left the plane, and the Red Bull NACS at Night overlay traveled with every copy. For a brand hosting during a convention week, that is the point: the party keeps showing up on phones at the show the next morning.

Why a pop-up at a convention week suits a roaming format

Convention-week parties have a particular shape. Guests arrive in waves after the show floor closes, the crowd is there for a few hours, and the venue is chosen for how it looks, not for vendor logistics. A roaming booth fits that shape: zero load-in footprint, no power at the shooting spot, and an attendant who moves to the crowd instead of waiting for it.

We bring the same setup to trade show booths at the Las Vegas Convention Center during the day and to the sponsor parties at night. For a fixed-station alternative with a branded backdrop, see our brand activation photo booth page, or the 360 photo booth for a video-first activation.

Frequently asked questions

What is a roaming photo booth?

A roaming photo booth is an attendant carrying a handheld, ring-lit camera rig through the event instead of guests walking to a fixed station. Photos are taken wherever guests already are, then delivered on the spot by print, text, email, AirDrop, or QR code. It suits venues with tight or unusual spaces, like the airplane cockpit at AREA15, and crowds that will not queue.

How do guests get their photos from a roaming booth?

Five ways at this event. Instant prints came off a portable printer carried with the rig, and the digital file went out by text message, email, AirDrop, or a QR code the guest scanned from the attendant's screen. Most guests took a print for the night and a file for the post. Everything also lands in an online gallery after the event.

Can a photo booth work inside an airplane or other tight venue?

Yes, and that is where a roaming setup earns its keep. There is no footprint, no backdrop stand, and no power requirement at the shooting spot, so the attendant can step into a cockpit, a booth seat, or a stairwell. Our attendant shot every group in the cockpit seats at AREA15 all night without blocking the aisle.

Do you brand the photos for a pop-up event?

Every photo carried a Red Bull NACS at Night Las Vegas overlay, designed before the event from the brand's artwork and sized for the four-shot collage layout. Branding is included in corporate packages, not an add-on. What a package covers is listed in our brand activation photo package guide.

What does a roaming photo booth cost for a Las Vegas corporate event?

Corporate roaming coverage is quoted per event, with day-rate packages starting from $750 per day and hourly bookings from $200 per hour with a $600 minimum. Prints, branded overlays, digital delivery, and the attendant are included. Multi-day trade show weeks like NACS are usually quoted as a package. Send dates and venue and we respond within 24 hours.
