A chairman's reception is where a conference stops being a schedule and becomes a room full of people from twenty countries who have finally met. The International Conference on Industrial Packaging held its 2026 edition in Las Vegas from October 13 to 15, and on the evening of October 14 the Chairman's Reception, presented by Tri-Sure, ran at Mandalay Bay with a photo booth, a printer, and a custom backdrop built around the city.
ICIP 2026 brought an international packaging crowd to Las Vegas
ICIP is the industry conference for industrial packaging: drums, intermediate bulk containers, closures, and the companies that make and recondition them. The 2026 edition ran in Las Vegas across three days of sessions and a suppliers' expo, and the Chairman's Reception on the middle night was the social anchor. Tri-Sure, a closures manufacturer whose tagline reads "Global Reach. Local Expertise.", presented the reception and put its name on the backdrop.
For the photo booth, that meant a crowd of engineers, plant managers, and company owners who had flown in from Europe, Asia, and across the Americas, most of them meeting in person for the first time that year. We handle this kind of reception inside our corporate photo booth service, alongside the trade-show floor work in the brand activation package.
The custom backdrop married the conference artwork to the city
The conference's artwork was called Break the Seal, with a tagline reading "What Happens in Vegas Stays Sealed." The backdrop ran that lettering across the center, the Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign on the left, palms and a skyline with the High Roller and the Eiffel Tower along the bottom, and the line "Chairman's Reception presented by Tri-Sure" beneath the title. Nothing about it was stock; it read as this conference, in this city, on this night.
That is the argument for a printed backdrop over a sequin wall at a sponsored event. The sponsor's name appeared in the photo itself, not in a caption, and attendees chose to stand in front of it. Our overlays vs props guide covers how a backdrop, an overlay, and props divide the branding work between them.
Sunglasses, glow sticks, and signs did the icebreaking
The prop table held shutter shades in neon green, red pixel glasses, oversized aviators, glow sticks, and a set of signs reading "No Filter," "The Party Crasher," "Dancing Queen," "Photo Bomb!," "Photo Booth and Chill," and "Wasn't Invited." They worked because they needed no explanation. A group could grab a pair of glasses and a sign and be posing in the time it took the attendant to say hello.
- Shutter shades and pixel glasses in bright colors, the most-used prop of the night
- Glow sticks that showed up in the frames once the room lights dropped
- Two-word signs that read in any language
- Lanyards left on, which dated and placed every photo at ICIP without an overlay
Prints with the full branding went home in jacket pockets
The booking included a printer, and every session produced a print in about ten seconds. Each print carried the Break the Seal artwork, the ICIP 2026 mark, and the Tri-Sure line as a badge in the lower-left corner, so the branding travelled with the photo rather than sitting on a banner behind it. Guests also chose email or text on the screen for a digital copy, which is how most of the photos reached colleagues back at the plant.
What a conference reception needs from a photo booth vendor
For association staff and sponsors planning a reception at Mandalay Bay or another Strip convention property, here is what made the ICIP night run:
- Backdrop artwork from the conference and the sponsor, proofed and printed about a week ahead
- A print overlay that matches the backdrop, so the souvenir and the wall agree
- A printer on site, with enough media for a two- to three-hour reception
- Simple props that work across languages
- A certificate of insurance and a load-in time cleared with the venue's events team
The vendor-rules side is covered in LVCC vs. Venetian Expo vs. Mandalay Bay, and the planning side for visiting organizers is in the out-of-state exhibitor's guide. If the goal is leads rather than souvenirs, the lead capture post explains how the same booth collects contacts on the show floor.

Frequently asked questions
What is a sponsored reception photo booth?
A booth booked for a conference reception and branded for the sponsor who paid for the party. At ICIP 2026, the Chairman's Reception was presented by Tri-Sure, and the backdrop and the print overlay both carried the sponsor's name beside the conference mark. Guests take home a photo with the sponsor on it, which is the kind of reach a logo on a banner never gets. See custom branding for what the design process involves.
Do conference attendees from overseas use the photo booth?
More than most crowds. ICIP draws industrial packaging companies from Europe, Asia, and the Americas, and a Las Vegas backdrop with the Welcome sign and the Strip skyline was the souvenir many of them wanted. An attendant who demonstrates the props and the screen removes any language barrier. Prints went home in jacket pockets, and the email copies went to colleagues who did not make the trip.
How do on-the-spot prints work at a reception?
The printer sits beside the booth and produces a print in about ten seconds after each session. For ICIP, each print carried the full Break the Seal artwork as a corner badge, so the photo and the branding were one object. Guests also chose email or text for a digital copy. On-demand prints are a corporate add-on quoted per event; tell us at booking and we bring the printer and the media.
Can the backdrop be designed around a Las Vegas theme?
Yes, and for a conference crowd it is the most-requested design. The ICIP backdrop combined the Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign, palms, and a skyline with the conference's Break the Seal artwork and the sponsor's logo. We work from the client's files and a brief, send a proof, and print the eight-by-eight panel once it is approved. Allow about a week before the event.
How is a conference reception photo booth priced in Las Vegas?
Corporate bookings start at the day rate on our pricing page, which includes the booth, an attendant, a branded overlay, and digital sharing. A custom-printed backdrop, on-demand prints, and extra hours are quoted per event with the proposal. For a reception of two to three hours, send the date, the venue, and the expected headcount, and we reply with a proposal within 24 hours.
